2003 Supra-What do you guys think?

Hey guys,

Relatively new here. Looking around craigslist today and found this:

Looking for some input on this boat. It's close to home and keeps me from having to go far away to find something.

Seems a little expensive for an I drive considering the age. Looks like a well kept boat from the pics.

bruizza 07-29-2011 12:26 PM

Price seems high to me. We picked up the same boat only a 2000 model year a few summers ago for 17k. Ours even had a double axle trailer. For damn near 30k you can get yourself a nice V drive.

scotthons 07-29-2011 12:26 PM

I'm sure it is a very nice boat, but that price seems real steep for a direct drive.

For the price I would look at this one also. Seen it last night.
I don't know much about the Malibu's and there pricing. We have a 2000 21i Tige and I know it wouldn't be anywhere near that price.

this one is in Lexington, nc

Thanks TRD, I hadn't seen that one. Have a buddy who has a Supra and I love it, thus the reason I was looking for Supra's. Anyone got a clue what price would be reasonable on it? I did the NADA and came up with $31K high retail, $27K low retail, that's why I thought it may be a good deal.

polarbill 07-29-2011 12:40 PM

Way, way too expensive for that boat. I wouldn't buy that boat for a penny over 20k. Like others have said. There are so many great options in the 25-30k range. SAN, X-star, VLX, 22SSV, etc...

polarbill 07-29-2011 12:45 PM

I guess if you value a small slalom wake that boat could work but then again, not for that price.

Here is something to consider listed on wakeworld's classifieds

I bought a 2005 21V three years ago for $31,500! That boat is WAY out of the ballpark.

V237TX_Nate 07-29-2011 2:04 PM

Yea I think thats a jip. I shopped for about a year before pulling the trigger on my 08 Sanger V237, and for around 30G's there is a wide list of boats to choose from that should be 2005 or newer. Check onlyinboards.com there is lots of good classifieds on there - and don't forget to have a marine inspector check it out before you buy. $200 bucks or so can save you a lot of headaches in the long run! Good luck and

jperkinsttu 07-29-2011 3:28 PM

Yeah I had an '03 launch ssv that needed a little vinyl work and I listed it for less and sold it for a couple k less than that. Tip top shape should run around 22-23 tops and that's generous for a DD

nitrousbird 07-29-2011 5:55 PM

Wow, what a rip off. North Carolina seems to have a good quantity of wakeboard boats at good prices, making this an awful price. That thing should be at least 12k less in your area. That would be a rip off even if it was a v drive with a dual axle trailer. NADA is total BS, just have to watch the market.

matt75 07-30-2011 10:25 PM

fyi- i just sold my 2007 Supra Launch 20 direct drive for 33000. It had 143 hours, grav3 ballast, z5 cargo, roswell tower speakers/lights, middle cushion for bow. That's a HIGH price. You can do much better for the 28000 they have it listed for now.

wake77 07-31-2011 6:53 PM

Great deal, do it.

razzman 07-31-2011 7:46 PM

When i was shopping back in early '08 I could have had one of three '00 & 01 Launches for no maore than 22K and each had low hours, too high imo.
