what would sheet metal do on your board? I have never hit a slider so I dont know. I know it should be wet for sure though, which could be a problem.

fiberon and PVC are the best slider materials

puckinshat 02-06-2004 11:06 AM

What is fiberon?

Its this plastic decking stuff, that seems to be becoming the first choice for the pro's. When wet it slides really well, but burns like a motha' when you fall.

The fake wood decking. I gotcha. What did they use to make the stuff that was used in the x-games. Cause that sounded like metal.

I didn't get a chance to see the games, but having a look on the WW X-games gallery, it seems to be PVC pipe. But someone who was there would best know that answer.

Metal works fine. You can buy prefabricated rails from home depot for about $50.

In the March 2003 issue of WBM look at the Powell trip photos. Notice the rail going over the land gap?

Where can u get the decking stuff? At home depot i also saw "composite railing material" it seemed pretty slick, would that work?

kristian 02-07-2004 7:11 AM

I guess that would work fine.
I thought they got the decking from home depot type store.
As Shawn said, Metal still works fine.
I think PVC might be the cheapest.
