I got this email below today.
That's OK, just don't burn or deface the Koran!! Every day Shirts like this are mass produced, marketed and sold by street vendors throughout the Middle East and it's simply OK. The mass-murder of 9-11 is a celebrated event by millions of people, and we buckle and take down our kids Christmas trees because these grubs say they are offended by Christianity. Funny how racism and offending other races only applies to whites ! |
I have heard first hand story's of 9/11 celebrations that happend in Stockton Ca from a friend who live across from people that were Celebrating!
I have also heard other story's of it, So I go to snope's to see what they have to say. And What do you know Snope's say's "UNDETERMINED" Here is a link http://www.snopes.com/rumors/photos/shirt.asp Then you can Google it Lots of story's and news about the Issue. Even You Tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KrM0dAFsZ8k But Snope's cant seem to come up with the fact's Does this Shirt Exist ???? and Who cares if it does or not. Does the "Religion of Peace" celebrate 9/11 HELL YES. |
They see it as a victory and there celebrate...
I happend to be in Japan on the 65th aniversery of Pear Harbor. Even today, they celebrate their victory. Even though we all know the eventual outcome!!! So the next week we watched the movie Pearl Harbor in lobby at our hotel. The hotel clerks and staff were not happy!!! |
Who cares? You can burn a Quran, a Bible, Harry Potter, or a porn mag. Doesn't matter to me. Even though I don't believe in divine magic or Santa Claus I still like xmas trees. Not sure why you would get all hot and bothered over some guy in a foreign country that doesn't like America. It's not like there are no people in America that don't like some other countries. And it's not like the US hasn't dealt with other countries in a way that would piss off some of the people there.
Remember Shock and Awe? I'm pretty sure that the Religion of Christ had more than a few followers going... "Hell Yeah!" when watching those explosions on the tube. It's called human nature. |
Snopes doesn't deny that Muslims celebrate the 9/11 attacks. All they say on that link is that this image was the first that they had seen of this type shirt and that they did not know the background of it. Its pretty clear that they are not disputing its existence, just stating that they don't know the full story on it.
To say that as a whole the "religion of peace" celebrates 9/11 is far too broad. I'm sure all fundamentalists do, as with residents of militant territories, but many moderate Muslims deplore it just like you and I. All people are individuals and should be treated as such. I'm sure you would not want to be judged by the views/actions of me, a fellow cracker. |

He's killed a lot more than a Ton of arabs!

That are a lot of things I wouldn't do in the wrong place. Well, probably wouldn't do them anywhere, but no sense antagonizing people in mass because there are idiots everywhere. People and religion take time to evolve intellectually. Christians were hanging uppity blacks not so long ago.
I agree that cultures where Islam is prevalent are substantially more violent in their treatment of others and less evolved in personal freedoms and equality vs modern day Christianity. But Christian evolution might also have been sped up by forced tolerance of secular viewpoints as well. When Islamic countries have a strong rule of law that protects freedom of thought and expression they will move to a more modern less violent society. Look at the OT Bible. Lot of the same crap going on there. In less modern cultures these sort of values were developed to stabilize society. |
John you bring up some good points. I like the Idea of tolerance equating to educated. But what I think is going on Here is, we are being taking advantage of. Our Tolerance is being used to exploit us and create a double standard. I equate Tolerance back to the days when the Red Coats thought the "Educated" and correct way to fight a war was to wear a bright collard uniform and fight out in the open. They made easy targets for the rebels or people "Less Educated" and not willing to play by any rules.

It's funny that "Snopes=Bull$hit" when they list sources for their fact-checking. "G", you on the other hand post blatant lies (see your "Why is it" thread if you need your memory refreshed). None of which are ever verified before you start littering WW with the falsehoods from your Email.

There are extremists in all religions.
You honestly don't get that? |
