What would you pay for an Axis T23?

I'm back with another question for the crew. I'm curious how much you would be willing to pay/expect to pay for a new Axis T23?

I can look up a T22 and an A24 on the seedealercost site, so I can get some idea of both dealer cost and MSRP, but they don't have any data at all on the T23.

T22 Base Dealer Cost $42K MSRP $57K
A24 Base Dealer Cost $47K MSRP $63K

Outfitted the way I think I want it:
Bimini, cover, depth finder, docking lights, dual batteries with switch, 450 hp engine, flip up driver's seat, cruise control, heater, plug and play, high altitude prop, mirror, pull up cleats, ski pylon, stereo pack 2, 2 fixed board racks, galvanized trailer, spare tire carrier, transom tie-downs, wakesurf tech, and wedge

T22 Dealer Cost $59K MSRP $80K
A24 Dealer Cost $64K MSRP $87K

I"m not an idiot. I know the dealer has expenses above and beyond the "dealer cost" and needs to make a fair profit too. But I'm also well aware that "noone pays MSRP." What would be a fair deal on a T23? What would be a screaming deal?

The price of the T23 should be almost directly in the middle of these two boats. 84-85K

It's not the good old of day of 40k axis boats.

boardman74 01-02-2015 6:34 AM

20-25% off MSRP is a great deal. I'm not sure if that is possible on the Axis line as some claim they have less mark up, but sure looks like 25-26% mark up on your numbers. Maybe some of the Axis guys can chime in with % off MSRP numbers.

Pinkston 01-02-2015 6:43 AM

I wanted a axis until I saw the markups now.

I will prob end up buying a 2 year old axis with under 100 hours for less and has way more options.

I'm heading to the local dealer today to look at a few boats. New axis boats being one as well

Its not the good ol' days of a 40k X Star. This is 15 years ago, but I remember an ad in the magazines which had a MC starting at like 40k. Crazy how much its gone up.

Isn't the dealer losing money if he sells it to me at 25% below MSRP? Wouldn't an offer like that just get me laughed out of the store? That would only allow $1K for the dealer's overhead and profit.

I'd say 13-15% off MSRP would be a pretty good deal on an Axis

xstarrider 01-03-2015 12:14 AM

If you're at 83k for an axis why not look at a Nautique 230

You will not see a 20-25% deal price on an Axis unless you get the bro hookup. 10-15 is way more realistic

Thank you. That's the information I'm looking for.

You're right thought that as a price point boat like an Axis gets more expensive, it starts making the big three look a little better. For example, at the same dealership there are three 2014 23 LSVs listed at $89K with 410s in them with 20-65 hours on them.

So you are saying your dealer has $89,000 USED 2014 LSV's? Plenty of dealers selling new leftover 2014 LSV's for less than that.

You should easily get your dealer to 13-15% off a new Axis.

I got a 2014 A22 Vandall for deep Creek marina in Maryland for 58500 before tax title and licensing. Msrp was 75k. They still have a T22 2014.

You straight up stole that thing. Nicely done

The thing about lower cost boats is that once you option them out you'll find you're not to far away from the big boys in which most of the options you had to pay for on the "budget" boats come standard on the higher end boats in their base models. The advantage of low cost comes in when you are getting just wakeboard essentials on those lower end boats. I would take an LSV all day long for 5k more. It will hold more than that in resale compared to the Axis

LOL at the fact that axis used to be a bargain brand for bats

ercAXISA22 01-03-2015 6:44 PM

I told them I was buying a different boat from a different dealer, which I was planning to do, and they came back and knocked a lot more off the price. I was happy. It sucks that it's mine but I won't use it or see it till late April.

SomeYeahoo 01-10-2015 7:27 PM

11% so far....still negotiating...I don't think I'm going to get to 15% though.
