Sanger V215 front ballast upgrade?
I removed the stock rear and upgraded to 1100# wakemakers kit but has anyone tried doing anything to the 500# stock front? Is there room to even upgrade up there?

Maybe you could put in some sacs under the seats like some of the Xstars had but the current front bag fill the space where it's located. Other than that it needs visible bags.
|
led in the front will do the trick. hidden and it works well. i know ill be adding a couple hundred lbs to mine.
|
Yes lead in the front is the best way to go. I am running 750's in back, stock 500 in the front, 400 in lead under the front seats and a SL 600 in the front walkway. If you don't want to go with lead then a bow triangle is the other route.
|
Where do you guys get the lead?
|
Mine is melted down rims weights from tyre shops. Put them on a gas stove (outside) and pour the lead into baking tins the size you like. Wrap and all done.

I know it prolly wouldn't fill all the way, but couldn't you put this sack under the seats? got a little lead in mine, just don't want it all in the bow. |
ok I'm in the process of replacing the front ballast in my '04 v215. I can use some advice: i have the outer bag outa there. blue bag is still connected- based on research here, I guess there is the exit line that I need to disconnect and then that blue bag should slide out? any confirmation on that would help. question 2. what did you replace that system with? new bag? - did you get it from wakemakers? what size? or did you just replace with lead? I'm not really thi king that lead is a great idea especially 4-500 lbs is perty permanant... any help here is really appreciated- TG

OK thanks for that link. I do have a couple of of 80 lbs. bags up there but really would prefer to get that ballast fat- sac issue sorted out.
|
I've looked at adding 2 bags under front seats in my 230. first, those areas are really small, doubt you could get 200 lbs in each. secondly, the add'l pumps, dedicated drain for each side, etc. to me just wasn't worth it. I keep about 300 lbs up front, 150 under each seat. move the lead side to side when I need to. takes about 2 minutes to switch sides.
IMO lead is the best option. |
edit's not sticking for some reason..
if you decide to melt it, please use the proper respirator. that ****'ll mess you up |
THIS IS OFF TOPIC FROM THIS THREAD**
Does anyone out there have a Sanger V-210 (97-99) and use it for wake surfing and have success? I've been able to surf the starboard side, but the port side i'm having issues with. I just purchased the swell wakesurf creator, but still having issues. Anyone know of any "tricks of the trade" if you will? |
yea, slam that bitch till the rub rail is in the water. 60/40 back to front weight.
need to run 1100 lb bags in the back and about 700 up front |

I got the Swell Wakesurf Creator b/c of all the hype around these wake surf attachments. I'm semi-satisfied. Just looking to see if anyone has had success, and what they did. |
