I need some ideas on how to best fill and empty my ballast sacks under the seats in the bow. I'm thinking of one on each side of the bow under the seats. http://www.bakesonline.com/detail.aspx?ID=1575

Is there a way to link these two sacks together and use just one portable pump to empty and fill. Any ideas would be helpful. I'm trying to avoid using any dry weight (lead, sand, etc.). Sorry for the ignorance.

what kind of boat do you have? Have you checked out the integrated bow sac? http://www.fatsac.com/FlyHigh/FlyHighSacs.html#9

X2 on the Fly High W711.

When you say "portable pump", I guess you mean you will be manual-filling the sac. If so, buy 2 if you go with 2 sacs for the bow.

I've got 2 bags up front, T'd together for fill and drain. The W711 wasn't around when I built my system so I had to get creative. Another WW'er had done this so it was easy to make it work.

Adding ports to regular old sacs made it possible to T them together. Just use a plastic thru hull and some sealant to add as many ports as you need.

FYI Those sumo sacs are a rip-off at a bill ea.

The problem with the Sumo Sacs and the Link fitting system is that the pump is not close enough to the bag when draining. The pump then loses prime easily. If you are trying to empty two sacs with one pump you are going to have issues. You would have better luck using that handle on the sac and lifting it over the wall to drain. I suggest using two pumps. The Launch Pad Uber pumps are cheap and it shouldn't take more than about 5 minutes to drain that sac.

I used the 900lb. Sumo Surf Sac a lot this summer. I fill it with the Fly High Tsunami Pump and drain it with the Uber pump. I can't wait for the new Launch Pad 1200gph pump to be released.

If it's setup right, it can work pretty well. Altho one big sack up there would give you more weight and be easier to drain.

My front two bags actually drain better than the single rear sac i've got.. Time to rework the drain hose and pump location..
