I have a 2001 Suburban with a 5.3L. I am interested in air intake modifications that will boost the hp,torque and mileage. Any suggestions?

I used the Airade? intake. It was very easy to install. As or performance, I honestly have seen some inmporment over the long run. Maybe about a lime more per gallon tops, a little deeper sound on acceleration, and a nice whistling sound as you hit the gas. I also have a SpinTech muffler added to the stock piping. Im thinking of adding the Power Programmer to the truck and see what it does.

I put a K&N fipk system plus chip and headers and 3 inch exhaust with a flowmaster and I picked up about 3 miles to the gallon and it pulls the boat up hills quite a bit better. was it worth the money maybe not but in the long run it might if not it sounds GOOD

<BR>You might want to also check out Volant cool air intake. One advantage for this product is there is not metal sheild at the intake box to heat up therefore keeping incoming air cooler. Expect about 1 mile per gallon more.

I have a '97 chevy k1500 with the 5.7 vortec. I put k&amp;n fipk. stage 2 computer module plug in. like a chip. and 3 inch 3 chamber flow master muffler and tail pipe. Better acceleration with less throttle same gas mileage. 20-25 more horses. Still not enough to pull a boat up mountain passes with out slowing, but better. headers may be the next step with high flow converters. But probably a super charger. or a 40k diesel????????
