Murray posted a shot to his Instagram of him riding his 2017. He also had systems on so maybe a return of the Murray system boot? Doubtful, but it would be cool.

Rode a 2017 SS Solo for one lap before a storm rolled in.... Interesting to see SS changing a few things up for '17.....

Yeah, I heard from a dealer they are ditching the fast track on the terrain and windsor

Yea I bet SS is ditching the fast track on the entire wake line. They recently put out their 2017 kite products online and did the same thing. They typically do the same tech changes on kite stuff as they do on wake. I just hope they didn't spend too much R&D money on this years G10 fast track. Would hate to see another increase in retail price for them. Obviously the G10 thing didn't work as well as they had hoped for. But ditching the fast track will probably make them lighter and flex a little more naturally. The fast track can also "pull away" from the board creating toe heel lift. So hopefully this change will help reduce or eliminate that mess.

If you type in google "2017 slingshot wakeboards" and look at images, new boards and boots popped up. The links wouldn't work for me, but the pictures looked awesome. Boots awesome as well.

Man, really don't care for the hyperlite graphics, haven't for the last several years.
How many different ways can we write Hyperlite on a board and call it a graphic. Trever's board looks ok, not so much on the rest of them. |
And even then trever's board is reminiscent of some recent humanoid graphics

When is Slingshot going to put the 2017 gear on the website already???
Have only seen those couple of shots from Surf Expo. Don't know anything about the new Solo board. Want to see the product vids of the new boots with the gummy straps. Anxiously awaiting both the Response and Recoil graphic. Although I think Alex Graydon is riding the Response (green board) in the ALA Cruisin edit. Anyone have any additional pics of the Slingshot gear from Expo? |

Yeah that's weird no recoil...
Looks like between the new Solo, the Whip, and the Pill they feel they have adequate replacements. Unfortunately only the Solo comes in a big boy size, 146. The biggest Pill is 142 and the biggest Whip is 143, so not really a good option for someone who rode a Recoil 146. Seems really weird they would discontinue one of the original legacy board shapes. Maybe just not enough sales on the Recoil? I can see where the Pill would have eaten into the sales, essentially the same shape and profile with a stiffer core and some added channels. I do like the Recoil shape, seems to work really well and pop hard on my smaller-ish wake (1989 Sunsport). But rode a 146 due to my size. Looks like I'm going for a 17 Response 147 and KTVs. Anyone know when retailers typically have the new gear available. Love to pick one up yet this year.... |
