DJI Mavic
Seems like this would be a great option for boat usage.
Really very tempting!!! http://www.dji.com/mavic |
Seriously has me thinking about selling my Phantom 4

This makes me question my obsession with collective pitch copters. I might just have to pull the trigger
I keep wondering how water resistant these quads are. Does anybody here know? |
That thing is next level compared to the Go Pro Karma. I will be picking one up for next season.
|
I was all in on the GoPro Karma...for about one week.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iPG1Xa5Uqwo Also DJI (and a couple others) offer PayPal Credit for payment aka you have 6 months to pay for it. I was going to wait until Christmas but I'll just pay for it then. ha |
Phantom 4 is on ebay. I love it, but the Mavic is going to be so much easier for hiking, camping, airports, and boating.
I used to dabble with collective pitch choppers and still play with RC cars and trucks. The drone thing is an entirely different animal. You only use about 2% of your collective pitch skills. My 8 year old can fly my Phantom 4 well enough for taking great photos. Waterproofing would be useless unless you want to fly in the rain. I have flown my Phantom 4 for over 30 hours since i bought it, probably 90% of that over water and have never been slightly concerned with crashing. |
What is collective pitch?

thanks Alan
I know that drones are very stable. I guess I'm thinking to much. |
https://www.massdrop.com/buy/dji-mav...eferer=AME8QE#
Massdrop just got a deal on the pre-orders and extra $100 bucks if you were going to get one anyways... |
Thing to remember about Massdrop is that they aren't an authorized reseller so warranty goes out the window!
