Second board on a budget

I got started surfing last year with a Liquid Force Rocket. I’m trying to do 360s and getting a little air now and I’d like to get a faster, lighter board. I’m 6’2” 210lbs and we ride in a Super Sport with about 2800lbs of ballast so we get a good but not phenomenal wave. My style is definitely more surf than skim oriented. As far as budget, I’m not prepared to spend $1,000 on a board. I’m looking at maybe $500. I see a lot of suggestions for brands like Soulcraft but that’s just not going to happen. I’m also very open to used boards but don’t know where to find them. I don’t see a lot of used boards at places like eBay and OfferUp. What are your suggestions given my budget, size, skill?

Chaos occasionally has blems.

set some alerts on your local craigslist so you get notified when a few keywords pop up. GL

Doomswell is selling their 2018 NEOs and Nusteps for $350 and some 2019 blems for $500.

Cool. I appreciate the tip but all I see left are the 4’6” models which are a little small for me according to their size charts. The Nubstep is one of the boards I see recommended quite a bit.

The $500.00 2019 demo NEO and Nubstep blems seem to be available in 4'8" at the moment.

The view I pulled up on their site didn’t have the 2019s. I see them now. Thanks!

Great boards, a great company that takes care of its customers, I'd highly recommend pulling the trigger.

I think I will pull the trigger. But suggestions for 4’8” vs 5’0” for my size and boat? Also nubstep or neo? I’m leaning 4’8” nubstep but I feel like on size maybe I’m overreacting from riding the pier of a board I have now.

I'd call or email Brock or Matt and get their opinion on board selection and size. I have a El Jefe and Nubstep, they are awesome boards. I just ordered the Neo, so I don't think you can go wrong either way.
