Anything Sexier?

1 Attachment(s)
Now this is a flame post, hoping to get you all riled up as the weather turns and glassy mornings await.

I own a Sanger V210, love it, and I love all the new boats but find the most popular models tend to have certain bathtub-ish qualities when viewed from the side. I'm all for heated discussion so flame on and post up what you guys think makes a sexier wakeboat than this 237xtz. put up the pics. I know Chattawakes 23LSV is a hot looking ride.

shawndoggy 05-10-2017 1:34 PM

I very much like what they have done with the new tower. Really improves the lines from the side. Does the whole thing fit behind/below the windshield when folded?

Lemonade 05-10-2017 1:57 PM

It's my favorite upgrade on the 2017, though It's looks like it's only on the XTZ's for now. They need to do a fiberglass floor with Seadek and upgrade the touch screen to something a bit bigger. Its an assisted tower (cable I think) and does fold near flat. Dual bimini option too. I wish Wakeboarding Mag would review these guys, but I think Sanger passes the marketing savings onto the customer. Such a sleek package. 'Bu's are the only comparable and maybe SAN 210/230's. They're interiors a bit nicer than Sangers but it's not a wide margin.

markj 05-10-2017 1:58 PM

What is that thing hanging off the back that looks like a whale tail on an old Porsche 911? Is it a bench? Looks like there's a lump on top of it too. I've never seen anything like that before.

shawndoggy 05-10-2017 2:00 PM

it's a spoiler, Mark, duh! Wind assisted downforce for the bigger wake.

(it's a seat)

Lemonade 05-10-2017 2:03 PM

I'm not fond of that option on the XTZ's and have heard it's a bit in the way when getting out of the water onto the platform.

SHotz__21 05-10-2017 2:03 PM

it's like a bench. it allows the rider to sit and place his board directly below him, rather then having to bend and stretch so far over to strap in.

saw it at a boat show, made putting my boots on easier lol.

breakz77 05-10-2017 2:36 PM

The back of that looks like an electric lift gate to lower the old people onto the platform

Lemonade 05-10-2017 3:10 PM

breakz77 might have invented the most forward thinking wake device yet. With prices touching 200k$ on new wakeboats, you'll need to use one once the boats paid off.

dougr 05-10-2017 3:22 PM

the bench has a "racer wing on the cavalier" kinda look, not the boat, but the bench thing.

tyler97217 05-10-2017 4:08 PM

That is straight sexy.... I definitely like the look of the lower profile boats better on the water. Just looks sexy. The reality is the market is going higher freeboard and driving them in chop or through your surf wave is certainly much better in the higher freeboard boats. Based on looks you might be right on sex appeal, but on functionality.
I really do like that tower on that Sanger.

DatTexasBoy 05-10-2017 4:14 PM

Love the way it sits in the water. Nice ride.

Ok then I'll bite , so how do you climb in the boat from the platform there is no step, a little large of a step don't you think??? Sexy boat though

grant_west 05-10-2017 6:33 PM

Anything Sexier? umm yes. Sorry I know this is not gonna be popular but that thing is about as Sexy as a Wakecraft

HEADACHE! No doubt.

markj 05-10-2017 8:33 PM

I still can't figure out what the hump in the middle of the upper rear deck (spoiler?) is. Booster seat for kids?

beleza 05-10-2017 10:20 PM

I'm a big Sanger fan. Love the quality of their boats, simple sleek designs etc, but man, they now look extremely dated IMO. That boat looks like something out of the early 2000's. It's a 2017 that looks dated out of the box. The tower helps a bit, but I think it's finally time for them to add some freeboard.

davez71 05-11-2017 5:28 AM

The sexiest boat on the water is an Xstar. The Xstar has some of the best lines and a sleek look.

I will agree the boat looks great but could lose that rear end. I'm a fan of the freeboard and always thought the Craz looked pretty decent in the water.

That thing is

Active Aero Braking for when the rider drops the handle.

denverd1 05-11-2017 7:45 AM

you guys must get on the platform with the beached whale approach. wouldn't put it on mine, but it wouldn't be a deal killer

boat looks good. dig the color scheme. I wouldn't plaster S U R F down the side of it, buts thats just me. Tower is a big improvement

the "spoiler" would deflect water if stopped abruptly with a wave behind it

Lemonade 05-11-2017 8:20 AM

2 Attachment(s)
Never though of the water catcher benefit of the spoiler, agree with them looking a bit dated, but a 993 Porsche is a sexy ,dated beast no? I like the look of the Craz but Moomba has a habit of adding mid 90's Cavalier pinstriping too. AGREE 100% on the Surf decals being put on everything. Reminds me of when every marketing ploy involved Extreme.

I'd like to see Seadek/Gatorstep, added bow ballast and another 1" of freeboard on Sangers. No more than that though or we're into the brick like look of the Nautiques G's and Skier Choice Blunt Nose boats (both of which are pretty sexy in their own right)

For reference:

denverd1 05-11-2017 8:25 AM

same boat, different angle. not nearly as offensive as it looks in the first pic. extends the useable area back there.
https://cdp.azureedge.net/products/U...2000000001.jpg

ONE inch of freeboard might be good. definitely don't want them to take on the houseboat look that others have

vdrive lockers looks like they lost some room to the cabin/cockpit.. I'm guessing they still come stock w 400 lbs tanks. maybe not, i'm sure the locker extends all the way to whale tail

grant_west 05-11-2017 8:26 AM

^^ why does a 2017 Sanger look like a 2002 Malibu. Sorry but Sangers remind me of dudes that can't let go of the 70's,

how the pontoon looking these days??

Lemonade 05-11-2017 8:41 AM

Nothing wrong with a 2002 Malibu.. Look at the SAN210. Nautique has done a great job of building great boats and pushing the envelope, but the SAN210 lines haven't changed alot over the years. A classic look. Granted Sanger could update some aesthetics but overall it's a classic boat that ages gracefully. The truth is on the water and I'd like to see some newer vids of riders behind this and other Sangers. Not alot of content out there.

markj 05-11-2017 8:44 AM

So that is actually a pad to sit on! Oh man... that's bad. Do you have to show an AARP card to buy it?

Yes, but there's no discount, cheap bastards. There's also a wheelchair rack option for the tower as well.

You don't sit on your boat? Quite relaxing. Coldie in hand makes it even better.

The freeboard on 210's/230's has grown with the times, but it's still been able to maintain its cosmetic roots. Kind of like the 911's did. Side story: I measured and compared the freeboard of a 230 to a G23 last week at the dealer. I was surprised to see the G has only a few inches more.

Lol. Of course I sit on my boat as described, but my favorite thing to do is put on one vest, put on another one upside down like a diaper and just float. Aaaaah. Relaxation at its best.

aricsx15 05-11-2017 8:55 AM

Interior looks like a mid 2000 centurion. Comparing it to a 993 turbo is the biggest stretch of all time lol

chattwake 05-11-2017 9:01 AM

That cushion is removable. Doubles as a pooper.

"SPOILER ALERT!"
"If it's your turn to ride and you have to drop a quick deuce, Sanger's got ya covered with the all new poop chute platform"

The industry is abuzz over the innovative new options offered by Sanger.

One reviewer: "Man that's a real latrine machine!"
Another reviewer: "That boat's the SH+T!"
Yet another reviewer: "The poop chute platform is the "Number 2" option I'd add to every Sanger"

Sanger is changing the game with its new cutting edge mindset and is really "pushing" the envelope.

I can hear the cheerleaders shaking their giant brown pom poms at the boat show, chanting:

"If ya want to build a boat that can't be beat, add a rear spoiler with a toilet seat!"

chattwake 05-11-2017 9:04 AM

DISCLAIMER - clearly I'm just joking. I think the boat actually looks pretty cool. I wouldn't have that platform thing on mine. I'm sure it's an option.

denverd1 05-11-2017 9:09 AM

Lol

bass10after 05-11-2017 9:10 AM

It's not a bad looking boat at all imo. The tower would've benefited from being black or white and lose the cheesy surf stickers. The real prob is the 23' 7" Sanger feels like a 20' boat inside. They're pretty cramped despite the size.

Lemonade 05-11-2017 9:21 AM

2 Attachment(s)
I agree with Detox, the low slung and narrowish seats contribute to the cramped feeling. The tradeoff is having to fuel up and surf behind the Nautique houseboats. Chatta you've missed your calling if you're not in marketing. I'd say comparing anything to a 993 Turbo is a stretch... I'm thinking one of the manufacturers needs to partner up with Porsche for a one off special edition. the platform is good concept but not the best execution but remember this is a small builder by comparison.

I think I like Pavati's transom best.

CALIV210 05-11-2017 10:12 AM

All the freeboard these days is ugly the boats are soooo sick though ..I get the purpose of it but the sleeker the lines the better they look .

BTW the Sanger Facebook page says it has 2650 lbs of ballast..What do other 23 footers have ?

grant_west 05-11-2017 10:29 AM

Aww man why you gotta be bringing up my Mullet, that ain't right! next thing ya know your gonna be talking crap about my MC hammer pants LOL. And the Tooner is doing just awesome. It's great to have both. Yes my 15 yes "Fifteen Year old Nautique " is still better then many new offerings :)

Lemonade 05-11-2017 10:32 AM

Pics or it didn't happen "G"

Lemonade 05-11-2017 10:44 AM

My V210 has about 2300lbs...some of it you can see though (2x500lb bags in the bow when my crew is small)

Dandy21 05-11-2017 10:57 AM

I bet Sanger's site and any social media sites have seen a huge increase in hits since this thread. I know that I had never been to their website before, but after reading this, I had to check it out. Turns out Lemonade works for their marketing department and will be getting promoted soon for all of the increase in traffic.

Lemon: Here is my 15 year old Whooptie, with more Trick's then 19th ave in Oakland. Untill the GS Nautique came out I seriously had no intrest or want for a new boat. That new GS fits the bill for me. (Tower folds and fits in a some what of a standard garage)

denverd1 05-11-2017 11:25 AM

Sanger doesn't have a marketing dept

I can get 3500 in my v230 with ease. Came from them with about 1300. glad to see them stepping stock ballast up as well

Despite it's "Spatula" on the water look, the XStar is a sweet looking rig, not a fan of MC towers new or old, and not a fan of the new squiggly looking rub rail. Reminds me of the Ford Taurus mid 90's redesign. Tough to work for a Cali company in Canada. Just stumbled across that pic on facebook and thought wow, clean looking boat. I'd love to get into a SAN 230 but no F'in way I'll drop that kind of coin when I only get about 2 good months of riding. Here's my whip:

Actually its more of a dust plan and I agree on the towers. They are complex, expensive and not any better than other simpler designs. But the hull is a classic and makes a pretty good wake.

I think its the 57 chevy of tow boats. Still good looking decades after its been replaced.

BTW, Chatt is killing me. Feels like the old wakeworld.

Lemonade 05-11-2017 1:23 PM

Damn sexy and love the gelcoats on those boats. i think Tige's winning the tower game right now with the Alpha Z, though this Apollo tower is damn sweet on the Sanger XTZ's.

chattwake 05-11-2017 3:01 PM

Yeah, those 230's looked good on the water and surfed awesome. I was not a fan of the finiky wake though. I owned 3, so I have plenty of experience with the inconsistent wake (once you added any additional ballast).
