Adjustable rod for clamping boats together?

Hey guys, I remember seeing these on here a while ago and google is letting me down. I think you buy these rods as a set, and you can adjust them to clamp 2 boats together on the lake. They attach to a tower but I think they could go to a pontoon boat as well. Buddy has a pontoon, so hoping they would work from my tower to his wall. Anyone remember these and where to get them? I'll more then likely be ordering online. Thx

Thanks. They're more dough than I thought. Anyone make there own? Might have to make bumpers work. Might be tough going to a pontoon though.

I remember some that utilized suction cups, which seems like a much more user friendly idea. However, that was a looooong time ago. Great idea.

^ New product idea - combination suck-gate and tie-up rod..... In all seriousness though, a single industrial suction cup on either side would probably work pretty damn well - just fab up some sort of rod between the two. If the connection at both ends is flexible, you'd need a diagonal brace as well.

I like the suction cup idea. If I get around to making one, I'll post pics.

The rigid idea scares me - if your boat is connected to another boat with a big ass rod, what happens when a wave hits?

The weakest link flexes - I like the idea of that being a rope, and not a piece of metal, or the fiberglass side of my boat.
