Cutting up Hyperlite System 2013 Binding
Hey guys,
A while ago I saw a thread on here about cutting out part of the base plate of hyperlite system 2013 binding so you can use 2014+ boots with the old system, just wondering if I was tripping or do people really do this?? Below is an image you can see the peice of plastic linking each side of the system on the bottom that lies directly atop the board. Anyone remember this thread or know if its ok for me to get my saw out? Rly good deal on 2014 boots and my bindings still fine. Thanks http://images.evo.com/imgp/1500/6795...3-webb-red.jpg |
I think they make a filler pad so that you don't need to do that
|
i've seen a picture where a pro had the 2014 boots with the 13 bindings with no inserts so they must have cut them out. personally i think it should be fine, because your screwing in both sides to your board its not like the middle is screwed in.

I've got 2013 plates just laying around, I'll chop mine up if you want me to and I can let you know how it works.
|
Anyone have any luck with this?
|
Man I hope this works out, that would save me so much money for not getting new hardware
|
Wish I knew someone successfully did this.
I have my pink ones I still love! |
Can I bump this thread? I'm thinking of doing this and wanna know if it will hold up
|
Ok so apparently cutting out the piece in the base is a no-no. According to hyperlite that part is important to the integrity of the binding . If you are the thinking about doing this, contact hyperlite customer support and they will ship you he filler piece cuz you can't buy it anywhere
