Looking to upgrade the CD/stereo in my soon to be mine Tige 2200V. Right now it has the standard old auxillary input jack where I still have to mess with both the ipod and stereo to get what I want. I would prefer something where I can just dock the IPOD and then use the stereo controls to navigate playlists and such while the ipod is tucked away somewhere nice and safe. I really don't care if it has a CD player or not

Later

Bakes

Alpine IDA-X100M will probably be the best for using head unit as a controler. It shows artes, album, song, and playlist lists like they do on the ipod display.

That looks pretty nice....only thing that would make it better would be a little more splash worthiness. It would be nice to just mount it in the dash and not have to worry about an enclosure or a cover and such.

It's marine certified doesn't need one,it doesn't have a CD so it doesn't open.

Has anyone used the new fusion where the front opens and you insert your iPod? Interesting concept, just have not seen one or heard any comments.

I looked at one at West Marine and I did not like the diaplay, looked like it would be hard to read in the sun.It is just black text LCD.

I installed one of the fusions in a customers boat.I only played with it for a few minutes to make sure it all worked.I liked it.The wording was big and had no problem seeing it in the sun.He said it was normally $500 ouch dont know if its worth that but he got it for $300 when boaters world was going out of buss. so that wasnt to bad.

(Message edited by kko13 on April 26, 2009)

I do like the multiple zone outputs on the Fusion.I think there are 4 zones.
