Not just NBC that lies or covers for lies, at FOX news, they fired two of their journalists for talking about Monsanto. The big 5 news media corps CAN NOT be trusted regardless of whether they lean left or lean right it's still the coke vs pepsi "taste test" game.

NBC got into trouble for doctoring the audio of the 911 calls made by Zimmerman, a FOX news affiliate got caught for doctoring audio and video of demonstrators complaining about police brutality late last year, which just goes to show you that even if they're on the ball a little better than the others, it still doesn't mean they're NOT shady. MSNBC's content, well I don't have to tell you ANYTHING about that because it speaks for itself (so does it's ratings) same goes for ABC and CBS

Bottom line ALL LAMEstream.....er I mean MAINstream news outlets are PRONE to spread disinformation (because of the big crony corporates that own them for their own agendas as well as the Government's agenda regardless or WHO's in charge in the White house or the Senate or House of Reps), basically to whip people into a feeling frenzy. People are starting to wake up to this fact. Sadly there still a LOT of knuckleheaded citizens that will take whatever is told to them hook, line, sinker and half the fishing pole because they're just THAT ignorant .

that's one way to describe it. Another is a local market TV station has two reporters who come up with a story about Monsanto and steroids in milk. Monsanto threatens to sue. No major news networks picked up the story. The legal fees don't support the weight of he story and it gets dropped. Bottom line, any of the major news agencies could have picked up the story, but nobody did. The local fox affiliate is guilty of not airing a story because it would be too expensive.

The difference is NBC outright lies to make a story.
