Love my 2005 Titan and it feels I pass everything except a gas station. 10 MPG might have to change soon taking the boat from SLC to Powell a few times a year.

2006 Megacab with the 5.9 CTD. Closest lake for me is 130 miles away. Gets 14.5mpg pulling 65mph. I have a 2004 Wakesetter LSV.

This truck (with a tuner) is stupid powerful. I had a Tundra and when it got 6mpg towing at 70mph with a 3000 pound tag trailer. I bought a Duramax a few weeks later. Mileage increased to 12.3 towing the same trailer to the same place. I will NEVER own another gas truck again.

Going stock all the way, at least till I blow a tire or something haha. Gotta love all the F150 love. Miss the power of my Cummins but ya can't beat these Ford interiors.

After 50 trucks I finally gave a Dodge a try. Love the 5.9 still not sold on interior but it's not as bad as they use to be. No Ford or Chev. that's for sure but sure do love the power and fuel mileage it is getting.

At high altitude a diesel is the only way to go.
Coming from Colorado, Dodge quad cab long bed 4x4 6sp with a TST CR mod.
At max power (9 levels x20) 485hp and apx 1100ft lbs torque although I normally run it on 4.
I can pull a 9500lb enclosed race trailer over any interstate pass in Colo at 80 easy. As everyone else said after towing with a diesel I couldn't tow with a gas rig again.

Sold the powerstroke and picked up this little 6.7 megacab laramie with nav, DVD and all the options. DPF and EGR "fell off", 5" turbo back straight pipe, mini maxx tuner with overdrive unlocked, 6" lift with 37x12.5r20 nittos and XD wheels. Also not pictured are the AMP steps for the midgets in the family and I blacked out the grille and threw tint all the way around.

Top pic is right when I got my boat. The bottom was taken by a friend a few months (and many boat mods) later. 2005 5.9 Diesel is the way to go. 20MPG on the hwy, 17 in tow...

This Sporty worked well, but without an inner cooler for the 7.3, I worried a bit about the long haul.

Decided to go for a dedicated tow vehicle that has worked much better:

Even with a big pickup, the boat still pushes it in a panic stop situation. Hit a deer a couple weeks back. Truck by itself would have stopped in time, but the boat, even with the brakes working correctly, kept the truck motoring down the road for quite a bit. I can't image how great the stopping distance with lighter pickups and SUVs, so that's something to consider when shopping for a tow rig.
