yep, the good old days. there were 10x as many threads on pushing progression, how do I stick this or add 180 to my spin, than "which boat do I spend a small fortune on?".

cbarguy1 03-15-2018 8:02 AM

Yep, I miss the old wakeworld. The demographic has changed a lot in the last 5-10 years. Surfing and the boats that came with it really did a number on the sport.

I remember this thread when it first came around and being so jealous of the boats and the Wakes. Like many people said, this was the good ole days of wake world and wake boarding in general. I just got in on the tail end of this era, but boy do I miss it.

Funny old WakeWorld how much weight did it take to slam a boat, and now bigger boats like my new 2018 Moomba Craz comes with 3000 lbs. stock :D

Thats what pros rode with just a few years ago! Now stock on just about every boat.

Should I start a thread: what are you going to land new this year?

Most are going to land a hefty payment and a well deserved hang over.

This thread has been a nice trip down memory lane. Before it was cool, we'd take levee rocks (30+ lbs) and place them in the back of my dad's Cajun special to increase the wake size. At least one local favorite knee boarding champ was able to rock some flips and mule kicks from it.

Later, I recall using after market fat sacks to load up our old 2001 - even by today's standards the 2001 produced a fine wake with a proper load.

How do you come off plane without dunking the bow?

jonblarc7 03-21-2018 6:26 AM

Believe it or not this boat has the 350 in it. Don’t use any wedge at all and that’s part of the key for planing. It’s got the most aggressive prop you could buy at the time. Takes a whiiiile to plane, but it does it.

I would only run that much weight if there were hardly any other boats out and it was butter. Stopping for sure got super sketchy at times lol. It’s all about letting out of the throttle and as you’re almost all the way out of it turn the wheel some and it hardly ever dips.

Yeah nope. Not for me! [emoji15]🤣

denverd1 03-21-2018 11:16 AM

Chase, got wake pics??

tn_rider 03-21-2018 10:38 PM

I’ll have to try and dig some wake pics up. We ride a g23 with close to the same weight now. It’s pretty much double the size of the LSV wake. Unreal

tn_rider 03-21-2018 10:42 PM

The wall of water as your planing off is awesome. Here’s a screen grab from a video. Sorry it’s blurry. Almost hip high and the boat isn’t even on plane yet. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...2b6a23b0d5.jpg

lucas200397 03-22-2018 2:20 AM

Chase Tillett that's the G wake right? what did the lsv wake look like?

Yeah that’s the G wake. I’m going to try and find pics of the LSV wake. It was big, but nowhere near as “firm” as the G wake.

tn_rider 03-22-2018 6:51 AM

Here is pretty much the only pic I could find of the LSV wake. And before you guys jump all over me for pulling a girl with 4500#’s of weight in the boat, it was the end of the day and by the time I got all the water out of the boat it would be dark...she was warned. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...63e8f974d8.jpg

TC_Mastercraf_X5 03-22-2018 7:12 AM

That is TERRIFYING. Make sure to wear your life jacket as you drive as that thing looks like its ready to do a submarine dive!
